Directions and Travel Information

By car

There are two routes to take by car to reach us. The main road goes through the main town of St.Ives however in the summer months this can have heavy flows of traffic, but there is a Tesco supermarket along this route if you want to get provisions. This route is the 1st option. The other route goes around the back of St.Ives and is one mile longer however it is less likely to have traffic problems. This route is the 2nd option

1st option
Directions to St Ives Golden Sunset ApartmentsFrom the A30 at the end of the Hayle bypass, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the A3074 signposted St.Ives. Drive over the first mini roundabout, then at the next mini roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted St.Ives. Continue forward on the A3074, through Lelant and Carbis Bay. Continue forward at the mini roundabout (Tesco on your left) and down the hill. At the bottom of this hill the road bends round to the left, turn right here to carry on down the hill and go past the Porthminster Hotel. Follow the road into St.Ives town and turn left after the Natwest Bank. Continue up this road until you come to another mini roundabout. Turn right and go up this hill. At the top of this hill turn right again and follow this road, shortly the road bends sharply to the left, at this junction turn off and go straight ahead, carry on along this road following the wall of the cemetery and green. Halfway along this road is the entrance to the Barnoon car park, Golden Sunset Apartments are directly opposite this.

2nd option
From the A30 at the end of the Hayle bypass, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the A3074 signposted St.Ives. Drive over the first mini roundabout, then at the next mini roundabout turn left onto Mill Hill. Continue along this road for 3 miles. At the T-junction turn right at B3311 signposted St.Ives. Follow this road through Halsetown. Turn right at the next junction and follow the road into St.Ives past the fire station. Go straight across at the next two mini roundabouts following the road down the hill, at the next roundabout turn left and go to the top of this hill. Turn right again and follow this road, shortly the road bends sharply to the left, at this junction turn off and go straight ahead, carry on along this road following the wall of the cemetery and green. Halfway along this road is the entrance to the Barnoon car park, Golden Sunset Apartments are directly opposite this.

By train

The St.Ives Branch Line connects with the main London Paddington – Penzance service. There is a connecting train from St.Erth to St.Ives. Golden Sunset Apartments are approximately 15 minutes walk and will involve a steep hill so walking is not recommended with luggage. There is an Ace Cars taxi office at the top of the Station Car Park next to the bus station. (telephone: 01736 797799). You may also want to arrange for a taxi to collect you on arrival.  It is suggested that you pre-book in advance and arrange to be met at the station.

By coach

National Express Coaches call at St.Ives Bus Station with daily services from London, the Home Counties and the North of England. Ace Cars taxi office is beside the bus station (01736 797799). Golden Sunset Apartments are approximately 15 minutes walk and will involve a steep hill so walking is not recommended with luggage.

By air

Newquay Airport is approximately 45 minutes from St.Ives. there are regular scheduled flights from London Gatwick, London Stanstead, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Cork, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Durham Tees Valley and Edinburgh. Taxis and car hire are available at the airport terminal.
